Simplifying your life is a process, and it begins with your state of mind. I live it, I preach it, and I believe in it.
Disorganization makes it difficult to be productive. We lose things, we have a difficult time staying on track, and we often feel overcome by the chaos associated with the mess. The challenging part for many is how to tackle the clutter, and how to keep it from accumulating again.
I believe in educating my clients about the possibilities of their home. Sometimes you have to ask yourself the difficult questions: “Why am I keeping this? Why do I have so many of these? Do I really need this? Have I ever used this? Is hanging onto all of this ‘stuff’ holding me back in any way from living the way I want to?”
Time after time, my clients have been in awe of the transformation of their space. It brings a sense of energy renewal to their home, and more importantly, their mentality.
The same principles apply when you are selling your home. Your space needs to feel inviting and calming, so that when a potential buyer walks in, they will think of your home this way. Buyers only know what they see, not the way it’s going to be. They need to be able to imagine themselves living in your home, and many can’t do that while your space is crowded with personal possessions. The statistics speak for themselves. Clutter eats equity and staged homes sell.
Reclaim your space, rebalance your life, and start spending your time on the things that really matter to you. And always remember…
Less is more.
